Next Expo: Sydney Nov 2017

Adventure Travel Expo Sydney Town Hall 2015

The Adventure Travel Expo brought exhibitors from around the world together in Sydney Town Hall for the 7th and 8th of November. Exhibitors travelled predominantly from around the Southern Hemisphere but visitors could still find great deals on trips to Ibiza, Croatia, America, Alaska, Canada and Africa.

Four thousand visitors graced the lower room of Sydney’s iconic Town Hall, with 1400 registering for the chance to win prizes including a free 16 day cultural immersion tour to Vietnam and Cambodia, courtesy of Hands on Journeys. Another lucky visitor was awarded a $1000 Travel Voucher from Explore Philippines. Other prizes included Paddy Pallin luggage, two x three day outback adventures from The Rock Tours and useful adventure equipment from Oztrail. Outstanding exhibitors were awarded too!

Racers from Paddy Pallin’s bustled through the Expo as part of their Urban Series scavenger hunt through Sydney that Saturday.

Prize provider Hands on Journeys offered travellers the opportunity to give back through volunteering their time, without missing out on great quality accommodation and an authentic cross cultural experience. Destinations include Vietnam, Cambodia and India where travellers visit orphanages and schools, as well as enjoying shopping, eating and relaxing!

Indonesian, Malaysian and Korean tourism provided visitors with exclusive insights into the best places to visit, while Ethiopia enticed us to visit the cradle of civilisation and taught their visitors all about the delights of traditional Ethiopean coffee.

For those wanting to learn while they travel Co.As.It offered tours to Rome where travellers could culturally immerse themselves with Italian families whilst enjoying full immersion, learning to speak Italian.

Africa proved a very popular destination. Crooked Compass offered Snow Leopard Tracking tours in India, Kenya Uncovered, and the opportunity to experience life with ancient hunter-gatherer tribes in Tanzania.

Those seeking the thrill of the open sea, Clipper Round the World takes travellers on an around the world sailing trip - no experience required!

Anyone wanting a more laid back experience could stop by Experience Croatia & More to book into an adventure, party or photography tour. Greg from Cannon Camera’s, teamed up with Experience Croatia & More to offer a two-week-long scenic and sailing trip, where travellers can learn how to get the most out of their camera and travel photography.

Adventures in our own backyards were not forgotten. The Rock Tour offered two, or three, day trips to the Northern Territory where travellers can see Uluru at sunset, learn about Aboriginal Culture, visit the Kantju Gorge, Mutijulu Waterhole and hike through Kings Canyon. Visitors squealed with delight (and a little fear) as they held Barry the Olive Python, who graced the Adventure Travel Expo with his presence.

After exploring the expo, visitors could enjoy Malaysian food, Turkish Gozleme or Spanish Paella, while listening to the jazzy tunes of Paul Sun. Apart from a bit of drizzle, the 2015 Sydney Adventure Travel Expo was a great weekend for exhibitors and visitors alike.

Thank you everyone who made the weekend possible, we look forward to seeing you next time. Remember, get out there, get around it and explore our incredible world!
